Jharkhand polls: Nominations of six candidates cancelled in Dhanbad

Dhanbad, Oct 30: Nomination papers for six candidates across various political parties and independent candidates in Dhanbad district were cancelled during scrutiny today, according to district election committee officials.

Among those disqualified were the Sampurna Bharat Kranti Party (SBKP) candidate from Sindri, Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Vijay Kumar, and independent candidate Motilal Soren from Nirsa.

Additionally, independent candidate Faisal Khan from Dhanbad Sadar and independent candidates Md. Israel and Mahdeo Kumar, both from Tundi, had their nominations rejected.

With these rejections, the remaining count now stands at 83 candidates vying for six assembly seats in the district. Dhanbad district elections are scheduled for the second phase on November 20.
