Dhanbad, Nov 20: In a commendable move, women polling personnel successfully conducted peaceful voting operations at 18 all-female booths set up across five assembly constituencies in Dhanbad district.
These booths established to encourage female participation were only for female voters and staffed entirely by women, including polling officers and personnel.
According to district administration officials, these booths were created under the directive of Deputy Commissioner and District Electoral Officer Madhvi Mishra. The 18 designated booths included five in Sindri, five in Dhanbad Sadar, four in Jharia, three in Baghmara, and one in Nirsa constituencies.

Notably, in Sindri, the booths were numbered 58, 141, 142, and 143; in Nirsa, booth 31; in Dhanbad Sadar, booths 114, 128, 296, 297, and 353; in Jharia, booths 291, 293, 334, and 335; and in Baghmara, booths 245, 246, and 268 were designated as all-female.
Polling personnel deployed at these booths expressed satisfaction with the smooth execution of the voting process. Kumari Namrata, Indu Kumari, Sushmita Paul, Saraswati Kumari, and Mamta Kumari, stationed at DAV School Koylanagar’s booth 297, shared that the voting process was conducted seamlessly without any difficulties.
Similarly, staff at booth 296, including Kumari Rinku Dutta, Rajni Sudha, Anita Kachhap, Maloti Sinha, and Mithoo Majhi, remarked that despite it being their first experience conducting polling independently, the district administration’s support and facilities made the process enjoyable.
