Ranchi, March 14: BJP candidate Pradeep Verma and JMM alliance nominee Sarfaraz Ahmed were elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha today.
Assembly Secretary-cum-Returning Officer Syed Javed Haidar declared them elected after the deadline for the withdrawal of nomination ended today.
The two seats fell vacant in Jharkhand after Sameer Oraon (BJP) and Dheeraj Sahu (Congress) completed their tenure.
The NDA and the JMM alliance had clear numbers for electing their candidates–Pradeep Verma and Sarfaraz Ahmed.
