Jamshedpur, February 10: Jharkhand is witnessing mild daytime temperatures and chilly nights, with dry weather conditions prevailing across the state, according to the latest weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ranchi centre. No rainfall was recorded anywhere in the state during the past 24 hours.
Ranchi Sees Below-Normal Temperatures
As per IMD surface observations taken at 8.30 am, Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 25.4°C, which was 0.7°C below normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 10.8°C, 1.5°C below normal.
The data indicates the continuation of cool mornings and cold nights in the state capital.

Warmer Days in Jamshedpur and Daltonganj
Jamshedpur witnessed a comparatively warmer day, with the maximum temperature touching 29.4°C, slightly above normal, while the minimum temperature stood at 13.6°C.
In Daltonganj, the maximum temperature was recorded at 29.8°C, which was 2.3°C above normal. However, the minimum temperature dipped sharply to 7.7°C, registering a significant departure of minus 4.1°C from normal, indicating intense night-time chill.
Above-Normal Maximum Temperatures Elsewhere
Bokaro and Chaibasa also reported above-normal maximum temperatures at 29.2°C and 32.0°C respectively. Despite warmer daytime conditions, minimum temperatures across several locations remained well below normal, highlighting strong day-night temperature variation.
The highest maximum temperature in Jharkhand was recorded at Saraikela (31.0°C), while the lowest minimum temperature was observed at Gumla, where the mercury dropped to 5.5°C.
No Rainfall, Reduced Visibility in Jamshedpur
The IMD confirmed nil rainfall across all monitored stations in Jharkhand during the last 24 hours.
Visibility conditions were poorest at the Jamshedpur Meteorological Office, where visibility dropped to 2,000 metres during the observation period.
Automated Weather Station Data Confirms Cold Nights
Data from Automated Weather Stations (AWS) showed maximum temperatures ranging from 22.1°C at Latehar to 31.0°C at Saraikela. Minimum temperatures fell below 10°C in Gumla, Khunti, Lohardaga, and Bokaro.
At Ranchi (Aero), the maximum temperature was 24.9°C, while the minimum remained at 10.8°C, confirming the persistence of cool morning conditions.
Stable Weather Likely to Continue
IMD observations suggest stable weather conditions across Jharkhand, with dry weather and noticeable diurnal temperature variation likely to prevail over most parts of the state in the coming days.
