Members Appointed in 2021

The three JPSC members scheduled to be questioned were appointed on September 2, 2021, following a decision of the Jharkhand government taken in August that year.

Political Heat Over JPSC Row

The alleged recruitment irregularities have triggered widespread protests by job aspirants and students across Jharkhand. The issue has also disrupted proceedings in the ongoing Monsoon Session of the Jharkhand Assembly, with the Opposition repeatedly demanding action and forcing adjournments.

On Friday, students also staged a march to the Assembly seeking reforms in the recruitment process.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren has maintained that no one involved in the alleged irregularities will be spared and has said the investigating agency has been given a free hand to conduct a fair probe.
