Ranchi, March 21: Minister of Revenue, Registration & Land Reforms of Jharkhand Deepak Birua said that Land Possession Certificate (LPC) will no longer be mandatory for land transactions. Going forward, land sales and purchases can be completed with just the Khatian and mutation correction slip. There will be no restrictions on this process.

Birua made these remarks while responding to a question from Pradeep Prasad in the Assembly on Friday.

Pradeep Prasad had raised concerns about the heavy-handedness of local staff, who do not consider themselves subordinate to the ministers, and pointed out the significant shortage of surveyors and staff in the department.

Deepak Birua also stated that the CNT and SPT cannot be amended by the legislature, and the court cannot give an adverse ruling on this matter. Additionally, it cannot be modified while remaining under the authority of the competent legislature. He made these comments while responding to a question from Rajesh Kachhap in the House on Friday.
