Dhanbad, Jan 11: Gurunanak College, Dhanbad, triumphed over Sindri College, Sindri, in the final of the Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) Inter-College Cricket Championship held on Saturday.
In the final match at Sindri College’s ground, Gurunanak College batted first and scored 144 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Sindri College could only manage 112 runs for 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
All-rounder Harish Rajak of Sindri College was named ‘Man of the Tournament’ for his outstanding performance.

Earlier, in the semifinals, Sindri College defeated the PG Department by five wickets. The PG Department posted 138 runs in 15 overs, losing six wickets. However, Sindri College chased down the target of 140 runs, losing just five wickets.
During the final ceremony, Dr. Pushpa Kumari, BBMKU DSW, was the chief guest and presented the trophy to the winning and runner-up teams. HURL officer Debdas Adhikari graced the event as the guest of honor.
Sindri College’s Dr. KK Pathak welcomed the guests, and Dr. Nitu Kumar conducted the function. University team selector Satyam Chatterjee was also present.
