Jamshedpur, Sept 24: In a significant development for sports in the region, Jagannath Behera, a renowned football coach, has been unanimously elected as the President of the Master Athletic Association of East Singhbhum.

The election took place during the first Annual General Assembly held at the Bengal Club auditorium in Sakchi, where the new Executive Committee for the financial years 2024 to 2028 was also formed.
The event commenced at 11:00 AM, chaired by International Master Athlete Avtar Singh, who served as the Election Officer. He was supported by Secretary of the Master Athletic Association of Jharkhand, SK Tomar, and former International Athlete Gurdev Singh, who acted as observers. The meeting began with a warm welcome address, setting a positive tone for the proceedings.

Former Deputy Development Commissioner of East Singhbhum, B. Maheshwari, graced the occasion as the chief guest, commending the athletic achievements of local master athletes. He assured full support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the association and fostering sports in the district.

The program was smoothly conducted by Shyam Kumar Sharma, with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Vijay Mohan Singh.
