Dhanbad, Sept 22: Former Jharkhand Olympic Association (JOA) general secretary SM Hashmi and Ranjit Keshri have been re-elected as president and general secretary of the Dhanbad District Olympic Association (DDOA) for the 2025–29 session.

The elections took place during the DDOA’s annual general meeting held at the auditorium of Credo World School. Along with the top positions, all other office bearers—including vice-presidents, treasurer, joint secretaries, and assistant secretaries—were elected unanimously.

  • President: SM Hashmi
  • Senior Vice-Presidents: Shyam Pandey, Md. Zubair Alam, Reza Ishtiyak
  • Vice-Presidents: Arvind Kumar Singh, Kiran Rani Nayak, Rajendra Singh Virdi, Samrat Chaudhary, Santosh Kumar Singh, Ajay Kumar Mahajan
  • General Secretary: Ranjit Keshri
  • Treasurer: Pawan Kumar Barnwal
  • Joint Secretaries: Suraj Prakash Lal, Mamta Kumari Pandey
  • Assistant Secretaries: Pappu Kumar, Mridul Bose, Manoj Kumar Sharma

Returning Officer Biswajit Bhattacharya, an advocate, informed that 20 nominations were filed for 21 posts, leading to all candidates being declared elected unopposed.

General secretary Ranjit Keshri stated that several dedicated sports persons have been nominated to further strengthen the association. The nominated members are:

  • Vice-Presidents: Saket Kumar Sinha, Anurag Dokania, Saurya Agarwal, Ashit Kumar Sahay, Subhashish Roy, Mukesh Kumar Sinha
  • Joint Secretaries: Priyarajan Kumar, Anil Bansfor, Suraj Verma, Sandeep Kumar De, Ritesh Kumar Singh, Nand Kishore Sharma, Lakshmikant Sinha
  • Executive Members: Shiv Kumar Mahato, Krishna Kumar Shaw

AGM Proceedings

Vipin Singh, observer from the Jharkhand Olympic Association (JOA), oversaw the AGM and election process. Treasurer Pawan Kumar Barnwal presented the income and expenditure report, which was unanimously approved by the house.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Suraj Prakash Lal, additional secretary of the newly constituted committee.
