Daltonganj, Jan. 8: A six-day state-level boys and girls volleyball championship has started in Daltonganj since January 7. The tournament is in the Zila School ground here.
Organising secretary Durga Johri said, “18 teams of boys and twelve teams of girls have come to participate in this state-level volleyball championship.”

About spectators, Johri said, “The first game of choice here is football. Volleyball comes after cricket; nevertheless, spectators are watching this almost day-long state-level championship.”
“We have made safe arrangements for accommodation for the boys’ and girls’ teams. For officials of the teams like the manager and coach, rooms in the rest house here have been booked,” said Johri.
Boys’ teams are lodged in the Giriwar plus two schools, while girls’ teams are in the CM Utktrisht KG school.
