Jharkhand tennis, athletics teams announced for SGFI national championship

Ranchi, Nov 22: Jharkhand teams of boys’ under-17 tennis and girls’ under-19 athletics have been announced for the 67 School Games Federation of India (SGFI) national championship scheduled to be held next month.

Announcing the state’s team, Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) administrative officer Jayant Kumar Mishra said that the tennis event would be held at  Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence Bengaluru, Karnataka from December 11 to 13.

“Before sending the teams to championship venues, a training and conditioning camp is being organized for selected players of tennis and athletics. The ace coaches of state are imparting training to tennis and athletics teams,” said Jayant Kumar Mishra.

Mishra said that the tennis training camp has been in progress at the Mega Sports Complex Ranchi since November 20 while the Athletics training camp began today.

Tennis boys’ under-17 team – Rishank Yadav (Motilal Nehru Public School Jamshedpur), Snehal Singh Munda (ODM Saphire Global School, Jamshedpur), Anand Roy (ODM Saphire Global School, Ranchi) and Sparsh Asmit (Carmel Junior School Jamshedpur).

Mohit Miras Minz has been nominated as the team manager of tennis.

Athletics under-19 girls’ team –  Komal Kumari, Putul Baski, Uhana Parvin, Manju Kumari, Shivani Kumari, Arti Kumari (all JSSPS Ranchi),  Surabhi Kachhap (St Anna Inter Ranchi), Manorma Tudu, Godda), Kajal Kumari (Jamtara), Sandhya Kumari, Basanti Murmu, Jyoti Kumari  (all Jamtara), Sujana Lakra (SAI Ranchi), Karishma Prasad (Dhanbad),  Neha  Lohra, Sumoti Kumari, Sumoti Kumari  Kotwar (all  Simdega), Parwati Kumari (Lohardagga), Priti Lakra (Hazaribag), Khushi Kumari, Lakhmani Kumari (both KGBV Bundu Ranchi), Mamta Kumari (Sahebganj), Anita Kayam (West Singhbhum), Puja Kumari (Giridih), Sandhya Kumari (Chatra).
