Jharkhand: Three arrested in Jamshedpur after police recover four pistols from them

Jamshedpur, Nov 24: Finally, three of the five criminals nabbed from Sakchi on Thursday were formally arrested on Friday.

Identified as Jitesh Kumar, Ravi Upadhyay and Rahul Kumar, the three arrested criminals wanted to murder one Rajan Mishra who is co-incidentally a close relative of one of the accused Rajan Upadhyay.

Revealing about the breakthrough, senior SP, Kishore Kaushal said that acting on a tip-off, the police had rounded up more than three youths from two separate places in Sakchi.

“During interrogation, it was established that three of the accused, Jitesh, Ravi and Rahul wanted to kill one Rajan Mishra who is a close relative of Ravi by hatching a plan at an empty residential quarter behind Rajendra Vidyalay in Sakchi, ” said the senior SP while addressing a press conference.

Weapons seized

Kishore Kaushal said the police had already seized three pistols and six magazines from the possession of the three accused. He said later the police raided the house of Ravi Upadhyay at Raghubar Nagar in Burmamines from where they recovered one more sophisticated pistol and a magazine.

The trio have a criminal history

The senior police officer pointed out that Ravi Upadhyay had already been arrested in connection with a murder case and that he had been released from jail recently.

Kishore Kaushal said the remaining two accused have also criminal cases registered against them with Kadma, Bistupur and Jugsalai thanas, adding that all three were forwarded to judicial custody in the evening.
