Ranchi, February 3: The district administration has suspended traffic movement on National Highway -32, crossing through Coal City for three hours from 9 am to 12 noon tomorrow in the wake of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
Rahul Gandhi, who entered Jharkhand in the Pakur district on Friday, will reach Dhanbad this evening (February 3). After taking a night halt at East Tundi, his Yatra will start at 9 am on Sunday (February 4) in Dhanbad for Bokaro en route to Ranchi.
In the wake of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, the district administration has banned complete traffic movement on the 27 km long NH-32, which crosses through the heart of the coal city from Govindpur More to Matkuria check post entirely for three hours from 9 am to 12 noon. From a security point of view, all kiosks and shops based on either side of NH-32 in Coal City have been shut down.

State Cong senior vice-president cum chairman of the state Disciplinary Committee Brajendra Prasad Singh said that former national president Rahul Gandhi would reach Dhanbad at around 7 pm. “We will welcome his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra at Dhanbad- Jamtara district border in the evening. He will make a night halt in East Tundi and resume Yatra in Dhanbad in the morning,” said Brajendra Prasad Singh.

Rahul Gandhi will spend the night in a tent house in Dhanbad. Several tent houses have been set up at Pagla More Maidan (ground) in East Tundi, around 33 km from Dhanbad district headquarters for Rahul Gandhi and senior Cong leaders accompanying him in Nyay Yatra.
Officials said the entire ground has been fortified with iron sheets, and security has been tightened. All pass holders will go through a metal detector in the area.
