Daltonganj, Feb 22: The president of the Kinnar Maha Sabha Aisha Singh has lodged a written complaint about getting roughed up with the town police station.

The text of the complaint is that they were roughed up by some unidentified people when they were out ‘giving blessings’.

The complaint further read that they can identify the persons who roughed up them on ‘seeing them’.

Inspector of police cum officer in charge of the town police station Deobrata Poddar said “A written complaint has come to the police station. It will be looked into first.”

40 to 50 transgender voters in Palamu, claims Aisha

Aisha Singh made two startling disclosures. First, they are 40 to 50 voters in numbers.

But no MLA, MP, politician etc ever bothered to visit them, speak to them to participate in election. This transgender said “Why should we vote or for whom as none take care of us? Nobody asks for our votes. All are indifferent to us here.”

In election record in Palamu the number of transgender voter is a bare 8. But here this third gender Aisha Singh claims to have 40 to 50 votes. It’s time now for the election officials to approach them to get enrolled in the event of their not being on the electoral rolls.

If what Aisha Singh claims that the number of voters of the third gender is 40 to 50, then how come official record shows them to be just 8 transgender voters.

Their number can increase if some election officials or SVEEP functionary do persuade them to get enrolled.

Aisha warns against ‘Fake Kinnars’, advocates respect for third gender

The second disclosure of Aisha Singh was more disturbing. It was about ‘fake Kinnar’.  This third gender asked people to be wary of ‘naklee Kinnar’. Aisha Singh said if any ‘Naklee Kinnar’ disturbs anyone then this matter may be brought to the Kinnar Maha Sabha and ‘No objection should be attributed to the real one.’

The third gender deserves as much respect from the society as the other two genders but here in Palamu it is wanting, Aisha Singh said. One rupee or two rupees does not matter what matters most is respect reminded the Kinnar head here.

This third gender described fellow third gender as ‘Larka Log’ reminding ‘if such a child is born in your family then what you will do.”

This third gender used a couple of English words like ‘otherwise, thank you so much l, media’ etc.

The third gender asked people here to change their mindset. Here people are non-cooperative. They are tied to a different mindset.
