Daltonganj, January 25: A love ended up in strangulation to death. Police in Palamu have shown professionalism. It is right to the bottom of the crime, not who loved whom.

The tragic finale was scripted and executed by no outsider but known, acquainted, and related people of the deceased’s family.

Again, this gagging was not done by the fiance. The fiance is not an accused. The fiance dropped his fiancee safely at home post-midnight on January 4.

It was no love going sour, but why the girl was in love was the leitmotif behind the gruesome murder.

It was the relatives and family members who committed this barbaric act with the girl.

Palamu SP Reeshma Ramesan held a press briefing today stating that two have been arrested while the hunt is on for the 3. The fiance, Pankaj, is not on the police hunt list.

Again, the deceased girl, the fiancee, and the fiance both hail from the same depressed class of people having the same clan as well.

The girl’s family was peeved with her. She was gagged to death by her people relative by bond.

The case is of the Naudeeha Bazaar police station. As the deceased girl is a teen, her identity has been protected.

When asked if this case is any honour killing, SP Reeshma Ramesan said, “I outright call it a grave crime. It’s a murder. I don’t know how you classify it; for police, it’s a crime.”

The deceased girl was minor, and so would police invoke any section of the POCSO to which the SP said, “The deceased is minor, 16 years of age. But here, POCSO doesn’t come as there is no offence made out of sexual abuse. It’s murder.”

One of the two arrested, Sudu Kumar, 19, is from Aurangabad district, Bihar. The other arrested, Guddu,26, is of Naudeeha Bazaar police station limits. Both are kins and acquaintances of the deceased.

Police have recovered the stoll used in the strangulation of the girl to death besides the cloture and slipper of the deceased girl.
