Jamshedpur, March 31: The steel city has been immersed in a spiritual atmosphere with the arrival of noted devotional speaker and singer Jaya Kishori, who received an enthusiastic welcome from devotees.
She arrived in Ranchi by air on Monday and travelled to Jamshedpur by road later in the evening with her mother, while her team had already completed preparations at the venue.
Three-Day Katha Begins
The much-awaited three-day musical discourse, ‘Nani Bai Ro Mayro’, will be held from March 31 to April 2 at the Bodhi Temple Ground near Rajendra Vidyalaya in Sakchi.
The sessions will take place daily from 3 PM to 7 PM, with thousands of devotees expected to attend. Organisers have arranged a large pandal with seating for over 3,500 people, along with LED screens and a sound system for better accessibility.
Focus on Devotion and Tradition
Organised by Narayani Seva Trust, the event aims to promote spiritual values through bhajans, storytelling, and teachings from Hindu scriptures. The katha will highlight episodes from the life of saint-poet Narsi Mehta, his devotion to Lord Krishna, and the cultural significance of the ‘Mayra’ tradition.
“This katha is not merely a religious gathering; it is an experience that connects the heart to devotion,” an organiser said.

About Jaya Kishori
Born in Kolkata into a Marwari family with roots in Rajasthan, Jaya Kishori developed an inclination towards spirituality at a young age. She began singing bhajans and participating in discourses as a child, gaining early recognition for her voice and narration.
She has also maintained a strong academic background, completing her schooling in Kolkata and earning a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree. Known for connecting with younger audiences, she often speaks about balancing modern education and spiritual values.

Entry to the event is free, but passes are mandatory for crowd management. The discourse is also being streamed live on her official YouTube channel for those unable to attend.
