Jamshedpur, Jan 31: Two women, including a 55-year-old, were killed and two others injured as two men attacked them having barged into a house under the Dhalbhumgarh police station area in Ghatsila sub-division about 65 km away from here late on the Tuesday night.
Those killed were identified as Kullu Munda (55) and Dipali Munda (20), both residents of Raghunathdih under Junbuni panchayat in the Dhalbhumgarh block of the East Singhbhum district.
Deceased’s husband, son seriously injured
In the attack, Dipali’s husband Dasrath Munda and her six-year-old son were seriously injured.
Having attacked the house, the assailants identified as Chunnu and Leda who were from the adjoining Bagula village fled the scene, leaving a trail of blood at the victims’ house.

The attack took place at about 10 pm when the victims were preparing to go to bed having finished their dinner.
Soon after the attackers had left the crime scene, the people in the neighbourhood arrived there and rescued those who survived the attack. The injured Dasrath Munda and his son have been taken to the Ghatsila sub-divisional hospital.
Police hunting for assailants
East Singhbhum SP (Rural) Rishabh Garg confirmed the incident.
“Two women, including a 55-year-old were killed as two men attacked them with swords at a village in Dhalbhumgarh late last night. The reason behind the attack is being investigated. We are trying to apprehend the assailants having taken a statement from the injured Dasrath Munda,” said Garg while talking to The Jharkhand Story, adding that the bodies have been shifted to Ghatsila sub-divisional house.
