Jamshedpur, April 8: A cyclonic circulation in the upper troposphere caused by a western disturbance would trigger thundershowers and lightning activity over various parts of Jharkhand during the next 72 hours.
Weathermen said the western disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over northwest Uttar Pradesh at 3.1 km above mean sea level with the trough aloft in middle and upper tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level today running roughly along long. 73°E to the north of lat. 28°N persists.
The trough discontinuity from south Chhattisgarh to Comorin area was running from interior Odisha to north Tamil Nadu across Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada and interior Karnataka extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
Today, thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 30-40 kmph) are likely at isolated places over the state.

Tomorrow, April 9 thunderstorms and lightning accompanied with gusty wind (max wind speed: 30-40 kmph) are likely at isolated places over northern parts of the state.
A forecast of thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 30-40 Kmph) is also likely at isolated places over northern and central parts of the state on April 10 and April 11.
The maximum temperature would also witness a fall in the next two days.
Meanwhile, many places including Jamshedpur today woke up to overcast conditions with pleasant weather caused by gentle cold breeze.
