Jamshedpur, March 15: If the forecast of IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre is any indication, most parts of Jharkhand are expected to witness dry weather but an alert of lightning and thunder has been issued for southern Jharkhand in the evening.

Weathermen said a low-pressure trough was running from Gangetic West Bengal to north Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Odisha at 0.9 km above the mean sea level.

Met statistics revealed that the maximum temperature has climbed to 36 degrees Celsius at several places including Jamshedpur, Daltonganj and several other areas in Kolhan region.

Weathermen said a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of the development of thunder lightning in southern parts is expected today while mainly clear sky in the remaining parts of the state.

Tomorrow, March 16 light rain with thunderstorms is likely to occur at isolated places over southern and adjoining central parts of the state.

Met record suggests that light showers occurred at isolated places over the state last evening.

The highest maximum temperature of 36.2°C was recorded at Jamshedpur while the lowest minimum temperature of 16°C was recorded at Garhwa.
