Jamshedpur, April 18: This afternoon, IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a heat wave alert for several places across Jharkhand in the next few days.
Heatwave conditions are likely to occur in isolated pockets of the East-Singhbhum, West-Singhbhum, and Saraikela-Kharswan districts of the Kolhan division of the state.
Heat wave in isolated pockets
A heat wave may also occur in isolated pockets of the Godda, Pakur, Dumka, and Sahibganj districts of the Santhal Pargana region.

Weathermen said the heat wave condition is expected to prevail from tomorrow till April 22.
No significant synoptic condition prevails over Jharkhand.
Only north-westerly to westerly surface wind prevailed today in most parts of Jharkhand.
Maximum temperature
Meanwhile, the maximum temperature touched an oppressive 43 degrees Celsius at several places today, including Godda, Seraikela and others in the Kolhan and Santhal Pargana regions.
