Jamshedpur, Sept 14: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued an alert of heavy rain in isolated pockets of central and north-eastern Jharkhand today.
The Met centre also predicted a two to three degree fall in maximum temperature in the next 72 hours.
The low pressure area over southeast Bangladesh and neighbourhood moved west northwestwards and lay as a well marked low pressure area over northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining southeast Bangladesh coast.

However, an associated cyclonic circulation over southeast Bangladesh and neighbourhood extends up to 7.6 Km above mean sea level.
It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over coastal West Bengal and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Firozpur, Karnal, the centre of well marked low pressure area over central Uttar Pradesh, Barabanki, Chapra, Purnia, centre of low pressure area over northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining southeast Bangladesh coast.
The Ranchi Met Centre also predicted heavy rain in isolated areas till September 16 (Monday).
