Jamshedpur, Aug 23: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of heavy rain in isolated areas over Jharkhand in the next 72 hours.

The Met centre also issued an alert of thundershowers and lightning in several parts during the next three days.
The low-pressure area over north Bangladesh and its neighbourhood persisted over the same region today.
The associated cyclonic circulation was extending up to 9.4 Km above mean sea level.
It is likely to move nearly westwards across West Bengal during the next 24 hours.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Sri Ganganagar, Rohtak, Orai, Siddhi, Gaya, centre of low-pressure area over north Bangladesh and thence to east-southeastwards to northeast Bay of Bengal extending up to 0.9 Km above the mean sea level.
Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places over northern and southern parts of the state today.

Tomorrow, heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places over north-western and adjoining parts of the state.
On August 25 heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places over north-eastern and adjoining central parts of the state while on August 26 heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places over north-western and south-eastern parts of the state.
