Jamshedpur, Sept 20: Most parts of Jharkhand are expected to witness light rain in the next 72 hours, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

According to the forecast, the day’s temperature would witness a slight rise due to restricted rainfall activity.

Monsoon activity would remain weak over the state in the next few days.

The rain deficit figure of the state as of today stood at 1 per cent.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Jaisalmer, Kota, Sidhi, Ranchi, Digha and thence southeastwards to eastcentral Bay of Bengal.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall was observed at isolated places over the state during the past 24 hours.

Monsoon activity was weak over the state. The highest rainfall of 16.8 mm was recorded at Baharagora in East Singhbhum.

The highest maximum temperature of 37.3°C was recorded at Godda yesterday while the lowest minimum temperature of 21.4°C was recorded at Ranchi.
