Jamshedpur, Oct 16: A few isolated places in southern and central parts of Jharkhand are expected to experience light rain today, predicted weathermen.
IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of light rain in isolated places. The Met centre also did not rule out the possibility of moderate rain in some places.
The weather is in transition phase as the monsoon has completely withdrawn from Jharkhand and the entire country.
According to the forecast, the day’s temperature is expected to witness a fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius from today.
Meanwhile, the well-marked low-pressure area over the central part of south Bay of Bengal persisted over the same region.
It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over southwest Bay of Bengal.
The system is likely to move west-northwestwards towards north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts during the subsequent 24 hours.
The cyclonic circulation over the west-central Bay of Bengal off south Andhra Pradesh coast extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height persists.
Notably, the southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the entire country on October 15.
Simultaneously, the northeast monsoon rainfall activity has commenced over the southeast peninsular India.
