Jamshedpur, July 9: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of light to moderate rain at a few places over Jharkhand today.
Weatherman said that monsoon is weak over Jharkhand and hence the rainfall activity has decreased.
Met department officials ruled out the possibility of heavy rain in the next 48 hours.
There will also be no significant changes in the maximum temperature in the next 48 hours after which the day temperature is expected to witness a fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level passes through Jaisalmer, Chittorgarh, Raisen, Mandla, Raipur, Kalingapatnam and thence southeastwards to central Bay of Bengal extending up to 3.1 km above mean sea level.
The cyclonic circulation over northeast Rajasthan and neighbourhood persists and now seen at 1.5 km above mean sea level.
Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms was observed at several places over the state during the past 48 hours.
