Jamshedpur, July 15: Light to moderate rain is expected to be witnessed at a few places over the state today, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
Weathermen ruled out the possibility of heavy rain during the next 24 hours.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Bikaner, Narnaul, Damoli, Lucknow, Dehri, Ranchi, Balasore and thence southeastwards to eastcentral Bay of Bengal extending up to 0.9 km above mean sea level.

A cyclonic circulation was hovering over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand and Odisha extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.
Another cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand has merged with the existing system.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was observed at many places over the state during the past 24 hours.
Monsoon activity was normal over the state. The intensity of rain was more towards north-eastern Jharkhand during the last 24 hours.
