Jamshedpur, Sept 9: Many places across Jharkhand will experience light to moderate rain today, said weathermen.
IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre also issued an alert of heavy rain in isolated areas of southwestern Jharkhand today.
Alert of heavy rain was also issued in various isolated pockets of the state in the next 72 hours.
The depression over west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal moved north-northwestwards.

It is likely to move nearly northwards towards north Odisha-West Bengal coasts and intensify into a deep depression.
Thereafter, it is very likely to move west northwestwards and cross Odisha and adjoining West Bengal coasts between Puri and Digha today evening.
Continuing to move further west northwestwards, it is likely to move across Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand during the subsequent two days.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Bikaner, Narnaul, Jhansi, Damoh, Mana, Puri and to the centre of depression over west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal.
