Jamshedpur, Sept 12: Jharkhand which is witnessing a rain deficit of 15 per cent would experience light to moderate rain today, predicted weather department officials today.
According to weathermen, one or two places might also witness heavy rain today.
The high relative humidity resulted in muggy weather conditions at many places today.
Several places in central, southern and eastern Jharkhand today recorded high discomfort index.
Meanwhile, the well-marked low-pressure area over Northeast Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood moved nearly north-northwestwards and re-intensified into a depression.
It is likely to move slowly north-northwestwards during the next 24 hours.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Bikaner, Sikar, Shivpuri, the centre of well marked low pressure area over Northeast Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood, Pendra Road, Rourkela, Digha and thence southeastwards to central Bay of Bengal extending up to 1.5 Km above the mean sea level.
A cyclonic circulation lies over central parts of Myanmar extending up to mid tropospheric levels.
It is likely to move west-northwest and hover over coastal Bangladesh and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal during the next two days.
