Jharkhand Weather: Rain and thunderstorms expected in isolated places today

Jamshedpur, May 23: Rain and thunderstorm activity is expected at several isolated places across Jharkhand.

The forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological  Centre suggests thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 40-50 kmph) at isolated places over north-eastern, southern and adjoining central parts of the state today.

Thundershowers and lightning activity are also predicted by the Met office for the next three days.

Weathermen said the maximum temperature in most parts of Jharkhand except  the Palamu region would remain below 40 degrees Celsius.

Satellite pictures suggested a trough running from the cyclonic circulation over northwest Rajasthan to Bangladesh across north Madhya Pradesh, south Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal at 0.9 km above mean sea level.

The cyclonic circulation over eastern Bangladesh and its neighbourhood was lying over Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal between 3.1 and 5.8 km above mean sea level.

Conditions are favourable for further advancement of southwest monsoon over some parts of the southeast Arabian Sea, some more parts of Maldives, Comorin area and South Bay of Bengal and some more parts of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Andaman Sea during the next two days.
