Jamshedpur, Sept 27: The widespread and heavy rainfall which the state has been witnessing for the last few days will take a break from Saturday.

IMD’s Ranchi and Patna Met Centres issued no rain alerts from tomorrow in its forecast issued today.

Weathermen said light rain is expected at a few isolated places from tomorrow.

Today, heavy rain is expected at a few isolated places in northeastern Jharkhand.

Weathermen also did not rule out the possibility of thundershowers and lightning at a few isolated places today.

Satellite pictures suggested that a trough runs from the cyclonic circulation over north-central Maharashtra to north Bangladesh across Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal extending up to 5.8 Km above mean sea level.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms was observed at most places; while heavy rainfall was also observed at isolated places over the state.

The good spell of rain during the past few days again brought down the state’s rain deficit to one per cent.

Against normal rainfall of 999 mm,  the state has so far received 991 mm of rain, with three days more to end September, the fourth and the last monsoon month.
