Jamshedpur, April 29: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued an alert of severe heat wave in several parts of Jharkhand today.

According to the forecast, severe heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places of West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Deoghar, Jamtara, Godda, Pakur, Dumka and Sahibganj districts of the state.

A severe heat wave is declared when the maximum temperature is more than five degrees Celsius above normal.

The heat wave alert has been extended till May 2, Thursday.

Tomorrow, heat wave conditions are expected to prevail at isolated places of Ranchi, Ramgarh, Khunti, Palamu and Garhwa districts of the state.

Today’s satellite pictures indicated a cyclonic circulation over north Bangladesh and it’s neighbourhood at 0.9 km above the mean sea level.

A trough was also running from northeast Jharkhand to south Chhattisgarh at 0.9 km above the mean sea level.

Weathermen said neither the cyclonic circulation nor the trough will have any impact on Jharkhand.
