Jamshedpur, April 4: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of thundershowers, hail and lightning at several places across Jharkhand today.

A forecast of moderate rain was also issued for some parts of northern Jharkhand today.

No weather alerts have been issued in any parts of the Jharkhand from tomorrow, Saturday.

Several places across Jharkhand including Jamshedpur today woke up to overcast conditions.

Southern & East-Central parts of the state

Hailstorms accompanied by thunderstorms/lightning and gusty winds (40–50 kmph) are likely at isolated places.

Central & North-Central parts of the state

Thunderstorm/lightning with gusty winds (30–40 kmph) expected at isolated locations.

Synoptic Situation

A Western Disturbance persists as a trough in the middle and upper tropospheric westerlies, with its axis at 5.8 Km above mean sea level, extending roughly along longitude 72°E north of 26°N.

A trough in easterlies runs from South Interior Karnataka to southwest Madhya Pradesh, passing across a cyclonic circulation over Marathwada at around 0.9 km above mean sea level.
