Jamshedpur, May 11:  India Meteorological Department ( IMD ) issued an alert of thunderstorms and lightning in various isolated parts of Jharkhand during the next 48 hours.

Thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 30-40 kmph) are expected at isolated places in southern and central Jharkhand.

An east-west trough was running from the cyclonic circulation over northwest Rajasthan to south Assam across Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal at 0.9 km above mean sea level.

A trough was also running from the cyclonic circulation over north Bihar to north Odisha across Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal at 3.1 km above the mean sea level.

Partly cloudy sky would prevail over the state today, said weathermen adding that there won’t be much fluctuations in maximum temperature during the next two to three days.
