PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, May 5: Jharkhand is expected to witness unstable weather conditions over the next few days, with the meteorological department issuing a thunderstorm and lightning alert till May 10. Several parts of the state are likely to experience gusty winds and brief spells of rain.

Thunderstorm Activity Across Districts

On May 5, the southern and central districts, including Gumla, Ranchi, Khunti, Ramgarh, Bokaro, and Dhanbad, are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning. Wind speeds may reach 40–50 kmph in these regions, while similar conditions may occur at isolated places elsewhere in the state.

From May 6 to May 8, thunderstorm and lightning activity is expected to continue across Jharkhand, with gusty winds maintaining speeds of 40–50 kmph. The prevailing weather pattern suggests ongoing convective activity, which could result in short but intense spells of rainfall in some areas.

Advisory for Residents and Farmers

The forecast for May 9 and 10 indicates that similar weather conditions may persist, though intensity could vary. Authorities have advised residents to stay alert during thunderstorms and avoid open spaces during lightning.

Farmers and outdoor workers have been urged to take necessary precautions to reduce risks from sudden weather changes and strong winds.
