PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Jan 30: Jharkhand is expected to witness largely dry weather conditions over the next few days, with shallow fog or mist during morning hours at isolated places and clearer or partly cloudy skies later in the day, according to the latest weather forecast.

Dry Weather with Morning Fog Till February 2

On Thursday, January 30, shallow fog or mist was reported at isolated locations across Jharkhand during the morning hours, followed by mainly clear skies later in the day. Dry weather prevailed across the state.

Similar weather conditions are likely to continue on January 31, February 1, and February 2. During this period, shallow fog or mist may occur at isolated places in the morning, while the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy later in the day. Dry weather is most likely across the state.

Light Rain Likely at Isolated Places from February 3

A slight change in weather conditions is expected in early February.

On February 3, light rain is likely to occur at isolated places over the north-western and adjoining central parts of Jharkhand. The remaining areas of the state are expected to stay dry. Morning fog or mist may reappear, followed by partly cloudy skies.

On February 4, light rain is likely at isolated places over the western and southern parts of Jharkhand, while other regions may experience dry weather along with shallow fog or mist in the morning and partly cloudy skies later in the day.

Weather System and Wind Pattern

According to meteorological data, the Western Disturbance that was present as a cyclonic circulation over Jammu and nearby areas between 3.1 km and 4.5 km above mean sea level, along with an associated synoptic trough in the middle and upper troposphere westerlies, has moved away in an east-northeastward direction.

At present, north-westerly to westerly winds are prevailing over Jharkhand. These wind patterns are supporting the continuation of mostly dry weather conditions, with the possibility of light rain restricted to isolated areas in early February.
