Jamshedpur, June 19: The wait for the southwest monsoon gets longer in Jharkhand as it is expected to arrive in another 72 hours or so.
The monsoon currents had become dormant and this has resulted in its delay.
Meanwhile, heat wave conditions would continue to prevail at isolated places of north-western and northern parts of the state today.
Weathermen also did not rule out the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 40-50 kmph) at isolated places over the state today.

Monsoon Update
The Northern Limit of Monsoon was passing through Navsari, Jalgaon, Amravati, Chandrapur, Bijapur, Sukma, Malkangiri, Vizianagaram and Islampur.
Conditions are favourable for further advancement of southwest monsoon into some more parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and northwest Bay of Bengal, some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, remaining parts of Sub Himalayan West Bengal and some parts of Bihar and Jharkhand during the next 72 hours.
Synoptic Features
No significant synoptic condition prevails over Jharkhand.
Only south-westerly to westerly wind prevails in the lower level of the atmosphere over Jharkhand.
