Bengaluru, April 27: The spirit of Jharkhand’s youth lit up Bengaluru as the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) hosted a grand Alumni Meet for candidates placed under the DDU-GKY programme. Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh, gracing the occasion, hailed the young achievers for creating a distinct identity across India and beyond.

In her address, Deepika Pandey Singh praised the remarkable achievements of Jharkhand’s youth, emphasising the government’s commitment to empowering them.

“The youth of Jharkhand have shown that with the right opportunities and guidance, they can carve out a unique identity nationally and internationally,” she said. “It is our duty not just to hone your skills but to ensure your safe and dignified livelihood.”

The Minister also launched a special publication at the event — “Kaushal Vikas se Atmanirbharta ki Aur” — highlighting success stories from the DDU-GKY programme.

JSLPS Earns Praise for Transforming Lives Through DDU-GKY

Minister Pandey lauded JSLPS for its effective implementation of the DDU-GKY scheme, noting its life-changing impact on thousands of young people. She particularly highlighted the role of the Migration Support Centres established by JSLPS in Bengaluru and Haryana, which offer crucial social, mental, and logistical support to Jharkhand’s workforce outside the state.

A Platform for Stories, Connections, and Celebrations

The Alumni Meet aimed to unite Jharkhand’s youth working across India, offering them a platform to share experiences, strengthen networks, and celebrate their personal and professional journeys.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the Jharkhand government remains committed to making youth, especially women, self-reliant through skill development initiatives. To date, over 85,000 young individuals have received free skill training through JSLPS.

Honouring the Icons of Skill and Determination

A special “Skill Icon” felicitation ceremony was held during the event, recognising outstanding candidates and Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) for their significant contributions to the programme’s success.

Candidates shared moving stories of how DDU-GKY training programmes had transformed their lives, helping them secure jobs and achieve self-reliance. Their narratives of struggle, perseverance, and success left a deep impact on everyone present.

Cultural Showcases and a Spirit of Celebration

The event buzzed with energy as around 850 placed candidates, now employed in leading companies, gathered to celebrate. Vibrant cultural performances — from dance and drama to soulful songs — added to the lively atmosphere, leaving guests and participants alike thoroughly mesmerised.
