New Delhi, September 13: The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has given green light for the appointment of prominent scientist Jitendra J Jadhav as the Director General of the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), effective September 11, 2024.
Jadhav began his career at ADA in 1999 as a Scientist/Engineer ‘E’ and brings nearly 37 years of expertise in the design and development of combat aircraft, flying trainers, and related systems.
As Project Director (LCA AF MK1) in 2013, he led the Initial Operational Clearance (IOC) of the Tejas-LCA and its subsequent induction into the Indian Air Force.

He was a trailblazer in transforming the Tejas-LCA into a powerful combat platform and contributed to the development of essential technologies, including mission and display computers, digital weapon management systems, flight dynamics simulators and others.
In September 2022, he assumed the role of Director and Programme Director (Combat Aircraft), overseeing the release of Military Type Certification for the Series Production Trainer (SPT) aircraft.
He also guided the successful maiden flight of the Naval Prototype (NP5), the first arrested landing of the LCA Navy on the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, and the inaugural flight of the LCA AF Mk1 A, an advanced version of the Tejas, among other achievements.
