JMM apes AAP, to launch Kalpana Soren at INDI Alliance rally in Ranchi

SUMAN K SHRIVASTAVA

Ranchi, April 5: Taking a cue from the AAP strategy on how to keep the show going when its top leader, Arvind Kejriwal, is behind bars, the JMM, faced with a similar situation, today planned to invite the top leaders of the INDI Alliance to rally in Ranchi to galvanise its supporters ahead of the Lok Sabha elections

The mega rally, christened ‘Nyaya Ulgulan Maharally,’ will be held at Prabhat Tara ground on April 21 to protest the arrest of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, a key leader of the INDI Alliance formed to challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The JMM will also formally launch ex-CM Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana Soren as its face from the INDI Alliance platform.

Notably, the opposition coalition leaders rallied in New Delhi on March 31, decrying “autocracy” in protest against the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal ahead of the general election. Kalpana Soren, ahead of the March 31 rally, also met Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, besides Sonia Gandhi.

It is pertinent to note that, taking a cue from Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sending messages for governing New Delhi from the jail, Hemant Soren too has started sending messages to the party on the issue of selecting candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.

Kalpana Soren to fight from Gandey

In a meeting with its MLAs, barring Lobin Hembrom and Chamra Linda held at the chief minister’s residence, the JMM nominated Kalpana Soren to fight the by-poll in Gandey.

While talking to the media, JMM General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said that all the national-level leaders of the INDIA Alliance will be called to this rally. Kalpana Soren was also present in this meeting.

MLAs get task for Lok Sabha polls

Bhattacharya said that in the meeting, all the MLAs had been asked to ensure the victory of the INDIA Alliance candidates in their respective constituencies. “For this, they must provide every kind of support to the candidates. At the same time, the MLAs have been told that apart from their own Lok Sabha constituency, they should also use their influence in other nearby Lok Sabha constituencies where they have influence and motivate the voters to vote in favour of the alliance’s candidates,” he said.

Rally will be unprecedented: CM

In the meeting, Chief Minister Champai Soren said that this rally would be so historical that it had never happened in Ranchi before and would never happen again.

“This will rally angry people against Hemant Soren’s arrest. A resolution will be taken to uproot the BJP from the entire country,” he said.

“Every single vote will be a blow to the BJP,” he said.

Kalpana Soren said that Hemant ji is still inside jail. “He is struggling strongly because of your strength. This same strength should also be visible in rallies and elections,” she said.

Joint Lok Sabha campaign

The JMM will officially launch its joint campaign with the INDIA Alliance for the Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand through this rally.

At the proposed Nyaya Ulgulan rally, all eyes will be on Kalpana Soren to see how she welcomes all the senior leaders of the INDI alliance. How does she prepare her allies’ leaders to speak on issues, including the arrest of Hemant Soren in Jharkhand?
