Ranchi, April 11: Tensions flared in the state capital today as hundreds of aspirants gathered outside the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) office, demanding the immediate release of long-awaited examination results. Loud chants and protest slogans echoed through Lalpur Road, with demonstrators expressing deep frustration over what they described as months of neglect and bureaucratic silence.

“Where Are Our Results?”: Candidates Cry Foul

Candidates from across Jharkhand are demanding the results of the 11th and 13th JPSC Mains exams—conducted in 2024 for 342 civil service posts—alongside pending outcomes for other major examinations, including the Food Safety Officer (FSO), Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Assistant Professor, and Civil Judge posts.

Despite the recent appointment of a JPSC chairman, there has been no official word on when the results will be declared. “We’ve been waiting for nine months with nothing but empty assurances,” said one protester. “Our futures are in limbo.”

Attempts to meet commission officials were unsuccessful, further fuelling the anger of those assembled. Protesters were informed that the JPSC chairman was not present at the office—an explanation that only escalated tensions.

Political Storm Brews Over Delays

Meanwhile, Opposition leader Babulal Marandi took to social media to slam the state government, accusing it of making false promises of employment. “Those who pledged 10 lakh government jobs to win the election can’t even publish exam results,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter).

The JPSC had announced vacancies for 342 posts in 2023, with the main exams held last year. However, the results remain in limbo—much like those of the JPSC CGL, which are stuck amid corruption allegations. Likewise, the JSSC has conducted recruitment exams for 26,001 Assistant Professor positions, but no updates have been issued.

A Pattern of Delays and Discontent

The leadership vacuum at JPSC—marked by a prolonged absence of a chairman and subsequent appointment of officials reportedly on leave—has only worsened the delays. JSSC, too, is facing similar administrative paralysis. The result? Thousands of aspirants are caught in a web of uncertainty and fading hope.

This persistent inaction has triggered waves of protests across the state. Students and job seekers, who once rallied behind promises of large-scale employment, now feel sidelined.

Legal and Political Crossroads

Several exam-related matters are also under judicial review, adding legal complexity to the growing public outrage. As political pressure mounts and demonstrations gain momentum, the onus is now on the Hemant Soren-led government to act decisively—or risk further alienation from Jharkhand’s educated youth.
