Dhanbad, April 11: Photographers from Dhanbad showcased remarkable talent at the 5th Jharkhand Imaging Expo, organized by the Jharkhand Photographic Association at Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium, Khel Gaon, Ranchi.

Participants from Dhanbad secured one first prize and three second prizes in the state-level competition.
Notable Achievements by Dhanbad Photographers
Chandan Pal of Dhanbad secured first position in the ‘Hamara Jharkhand’ event, while Rajkumar Singh won the runner-up trophy in the same category.

Subhojit Ghoshal achieved second place in two events—Wedding Portrait and Wedding Candid—demonstrating his versatility.

Rajkumar Singh also earned third position in the Journalism Photography event, adding another feather to Dhanbad’s cap.

Minister Sudivya Kumar Attends Closing Ceremony
Sudivya Kumar Sonu, Jharkhand’s Minister for Sports, Tourism, Arts, and Culture, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He presented awards to winners across different categories.
The competition witnessed participation from over a hundred photographers representing various districts of Jharkhand, making it a grand showcase of photographic talent.
Exhibition Inaugurated by MLA CP Singh
Earlier in the day, veteran Ranchi MLA CP Singh inaugurated the competition and the exhibition gallery featuring the participants’ works.
Praising the organizers, Singh remarked, “Photography is an art that only dedicated individuals can master. In today’s mobile age, almost everyone captures pictures daily, but the artistry displayed in this gallery proves the spirit of true photographers is alive.”

Key figures from the Jharkhand Photographic Association, including President Bapi Ghosh, Vice-President Shivram Gupta, Secretary Upendra Gupta, Treasurer Rajesh Kumar, and Assistant Secretary Rupesh Prajapati, were present during the event, contributing to its success.
