Ranchi, Jan 19: Dr. Thakur Mritunjay Kumar Singh from Ramgarh has been re-elected as the General Secretary of the Jharkhand State Health Services Association (JSHSA) for the 2025-27 term. This marks his second consecutive term.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sharad Kumar of Deoghar has been appointed the new state convener.

In a closely contested election, Dr. Jagannath Hembrom from Chaibasa was elected the new Vice President for Kolhan Division.

Election Results: Voting Details and Winner Margins

  • Dr. Thakur Mritunjay Kumar Singh secured 899 votes, defeating Dr. Krishna Murari Singh, who received 267 votes, by a margin of 632 votes.
  • Dr. Sharad Kumar emerged as the highest vote-getter among three candidates with 822 votes, surpassing other candidates, including Dr. Sidheswar Baskey (213 votes) and Dr. Santosh Kumar (122 votes) from Ranchi.
  • Dr. Jagannath Hembrom won the position of Vice President from Kolhan Division, defeating Dr. Shahid Anwar of Jamshedpur by 88 votes (138 votes to 50).

Unopposed Elections and New Leadership Focus

The election for other positions, including the President, seven Vice Presidents, Treasurer, and seven Joint Secretaries, was uncontested and unopposed.

Voting today was conducted only for the positions of General Secretary, State Convener, and Vice President for Kolhan Division.

After receiving the certificate from election commissioners, new President Dr. Bimlesh Singh emphasized that the committee’s primary focus will be solving the issues of medical officers and ensuring the effective implementation of state health programs.

“The new committee will prioritize addressing the problems faced by medical officers and ensuring the effective implementation of the state government’s health programs,” said the newly elected President, Dr. Bimlesh Singh.

Peaceful Election Process

The Chief Election Commissioner Dr. Lal Majhi, along with Dr. Pankaj Kumar, Dr. RK Singh, and Dr. Vikash Kumar Gupta, announced the results. They also highlighted that the polling process was conducted peacefully across all 24 districts without any protests.
