New Delhi, March 21: Justice Harish Tandon, currently a judge at the Calcutta High Court, has been appointed as the next Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court.

Union Minister of State for Law & Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, confirmed the development on X today.

The Supreme Court collegium had recommended his elevation on March 6.

Justice Tandon’s appointment follows the vacancy left by Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh, who retired in January.

Tandon has served as a judge at the Calcutta High Court since April 2010.
