New Delhi, Dec 5: Former Delhi High Court Chief Justice, Justice Manmohan, took the oath as a Supreme Court judge on Thursday.
Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna administered the oath to Justice Manmohan.
Justice Manmohan’s appointment has raised the Supreme Court’s functional strength to 32 judges, out of a sanctioned total of 34.
On November 28, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended Justice Manmohan’s elevation to the apex court.

Know Justice Manmohan
Born on December 17, 1962, in Delhi, Justice Manmohan attended Modern School, Barakhamba Road, for his schooling and later obtained a B.A. (Hons.) in History from Hindu College, University of Delhi.
In 1987, Justice Manmohan completed his LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi, and was enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi in the same year.
He specialized in civil, criminal, constitutional, taxation, arbitration, trademark, and service law, practicing mainly in the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court.
He served as a senior panel advocate for the Government of India in both the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court of India.
In January 2003, Justice Manmohan was designated a senior advocate by the Delhi High Court. He was later appointed as an additional judge of the Delhi High Court on March 13, 2008, and became a permanent judge on December 17, 2009.
