Ranchi, Sept 29: Spearheading the ‘Maiyaan Samman Yatra’ JMM MLA and Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana Soren today hit the ground in Kolhan, and vowed to fight for the rights of Jharkhand, for the protection of water, forest and land.

Kalpana, who has drawn huge crowds, particularly women, during her week-long ‘yatra’ beginning from Garhwa, said that the BJP has called many leaders from other states in the form of the ‘conspiracy yatra’.

Addressing public meetings in Goelkera and Manoharpur, she said the BJP aims to loot the resources here. “Hemant ji is not allowing this to happen, so the BJP is hatching conspiracy after conspiracy against him,” she alleged.

Third instalment of JMMSY very soon

Kalpana Soren said that two instalments of Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiyaan Samman Yojna have been credited to the bank accounts of the sisters. “Soon the third instalment will also be given,” she said and added that women need love, respect and encouragement.

“The Mainyaan Samman Yatra is a journey to take the self-respect of women forward. The women here are very capable. Women can do a lot in their lives. You move forward, the government is with you. Now the time has come that we have to create our own identity. We have to fight for ourselves and win,” she said.

Women are not weak: Deepika Pandey Singh

Agriculture Minister Deepika Pandey Singh, accompanying Kalpana, said that now women are not weak. “They are becoming self-reliant. Giving the example of MP Joba Manjhi, she told the thousands of women who came to the programme that she has faced many difficulties in her life and has moved forward. The government is with women. You also move forward. This is the thinking of Chief Minister Hemant Soren,” she said.

Ministers Baby Devi, Deepak Birua, and MP Joba Manjhi were also present on the occasion.
