Alappuzha, Jan 30: 15 accused in the 2021 murder case of BJP leader Ranjith Sreenivasan were given the death penalty by the Mavelikkara Additional District Session Court-I on Tuesday.
All 15 individuals implicated have affiliations with the now-outlawed organization, Popular Front of India (PFI).
On December 19, 2021, Ranjith Sreenivasan, the state secretary of the BJP for OBC Morcha, was murdered in front of his family after being viciously attacked at home.

On January 20th, the court determined that among the 15 individuals charged in the case, eight individuals (from accused 1 to accused 8) were directly implicated in the incident.
The court concluded that four additional individuals (accused 9 to accused 12) were convicted of murder as they arrived at the scene armed with lethal weapons, in collaboration with those directly engaged in the crime.
The court has also determined that three individuals who were involved in the plotting have been convicted of both murder and criminal conspiracy.
All 15 accused have been substantiated on charges of murder.
