Kozhikode, Feb 23: During a temple festival in Koyilandy, in Kerala’s Kozhikode district, PV Sathyanathan, a prominent figure in the Communist Party of India (Marxist), was murdered.
The event occurred on Thursday night at the Cheriyapuram Temple during a festival.
P Mohanan, district secretary for the CPI(M), stated that an axe was used to attack Sathyanathan.

He mentioned that a strike has been announced in Koyilandy today to express outrage over the leader’s demise.
Sathyanathan suffered several injuries, including a strike to his neck. He was quickly taken to the taluk hospital in Koyilandy, where medical staff pronounced him dead.
