KK Khandelwal’s students bag Jharkhand’s top two JEE Advanced ranks

Ranchi, June 1: Students mentored by former IAS officer and IIT alumnus KK Khandelwal have delivered an impressive performance in JEE Advanced 2026, with the top two rankers from Jharkhand among candidates who prepared under his guidance.

Shaurya Shekhar secured All India Rank (AIR) 414, emerging as the highest-ranked candidate from Jharkhand, while Snehal Raj Singh secured AIR 635 to become the second-highest-ranked student in the state.

Guided by Former IAS Officer KK Khandelwal

Both students prepared at Khandelwal Classes, where KK Khandelwal personally mentored them in Physics and Mathematics. They received guidance in Chemistry from noted faculty member R.K. Gupta.

Following the declaration of the results, Shaurya Shekhar and Snehal Raj Singh, accompanied by their parents, visited Khandelwal Classes to thank Khandelwal for his guidance and support.

IITian Mentor Continues Legacy of Success

KK Khandelwal, who retired as Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Jharkhand, is himself an IIT graduate.

He has a long association with IIT entrance preparation and has previously guided his family members to outstanding performances in the examination. His son Anupam Khandelwal secured AIR 9, while his nephew Aniket Khandelwal achieved AIR 56 in IIT entrance examinations.

First Batch After Retirement Delivers Big Success

According to Khandelwal Classes, more than 20 students mentored by KK Khandelwal have qualified JEE Advanced with notable ranks over the years.

The 2026 batch assumes special significance as it is the first batch mentored by Khandelwal after his retirement from the IAS, and it has produced both Jharkhand’s top-ranked candidates in JEE Advanced.

The achievement has further strengthened the institute’s reputation for IIT-JEE preparation and academic excellence in Jharkhand.
