New Delhi, March 25: The Lok Sabha on Tuesday approved extending the tenure of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on ‘One Nation, One Election’ until the first day of the last week of the Monsoon Session in 2025.
JPC Chairman PP Chaudhary moved a motion in the Lok Sabha seeking more time to present the report on the ‘One Nation, One Election’ bills, which was subsequently approved.

The JPC is reviewing the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Ninth Amendment) Bill, 2024, and the Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024, which are central to the proposed electoral reforms.
It will convene at 3 pm today, where Attorney General R Venkataramani and Justice DN Patel, former Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court and current Chairperson of TDSAT, will present their views before the committee.
The discussion will focus on the legal and constitutional aspects of implementing simultaneous elections across the country. is scheduled to convene at 3 pm today.
