LS polls third phase: Nearly 60.2% voter turnout till 5 pm, Assam records highest voting and Maharashtra lowest

New Delhi, May 7: Voting was held on 93 seats in 12 states and one union territory on Tuesday under the third phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024.

It is reported that 60.2 per cent of voting has been recorded till 5 pm. As per the state-wise figures, till 5 pm, the highest voting has been in Assam at 74.9 per cent and the lowest in Maharashtra at 53.4 per cent.

Till 5 pm, 56.01 per cent voting was recorded in Bihar, 66.87 per cent in Chhattisgarh, 65.23 per cent in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, 72.52 per cent in Goa, 55.22 per cent in Gujarat, 66.05 per cent in Karnataka, 62.28 per cent in Madhya Pradesh, 55.13 per cent in Uttar Pradesh and 73.93 per cent in West Bengal.

In the first two phases, voting has been done on 189 out of 543 Lok Sabha seats.

Elections for the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh phases will be held on May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1 respectively.

The counting of votes will take place on June 4.
